NBA's Worst Money Managers Intro

NBA players make millions of dollars a year. That would be enough to provide for them for the rest of their lives if they lived reasonably (and for the sake of my blog , bless them for not doing so), but many of them find a way to blow it 5 years after they are out of the NBA. But who has a real knack for spending money they don’t have & terrible decision making? Which 5 guys in the NBA would you least want to manage your money? (Allen Iverson isn’t one of them amazingly!) In other words, who’s the Enron’s of the NBA?

Honorable Mention

Scottie Pippen

Though Scottie may have been the best on ball defender of all time, he also is one of the worst off court decision makers when it comes to greenbacks. Scottie had once bought a jet for $4 million which never took off. Claiming that his deal had been mishandled, he was awarded $2 million  in return. But in the end, Scottie had lost $120 million dollars in bad investments. So, good job getting 1/60th of that back, Scottie. Way to fight the man.  I guess Mr. Sub commercials didn’t pay as much as you might think & a first person live action one on one basketball game wasn’t that good of an idea (maybe funniest video game of all time unintentionally). He’d be on this list if he hadn’t scored a gig with the Bulls watching basketball with some random dude.  Don’t worry guys, I’m sure we’ll have more Scottie Pippen fun here soon!
