Denver Is Better Than Alaska, Andre Iguodala



This was a big weekend for basketball, the Gold Medal winner was decided yesterday & the Dwightmare is officially over for at least for this year. (Pause for your celebration over not having to hear about the rumors & BS anymore.) Done celebrating yet? Good, but what you may have missed was the player’s reaction or non-reaction to the trades. 

Dwight Howard: Happy/Relieved (ironic that he's relieved over something he created)

Andrew Bynum: Guarded (no public reaction)

Everyone other than Iggy, Dwight, or Bynum: Filed under “Who Cares?”

But what about Andre Iguodala’s reaction:

“Andre Iguodala told me in London that getting traded to Nuggets no better, no worse than trade to Alaska. Iggy lukewarm on Denver. At best.”

I get that Denver isn’t exactly a big market franchise or anything but ALASKA!!?? Come on Iggy, as a current Denver area resident & Nuggets fan, I have to say those are some harsh words. I know that you heard all about Glenn Rice having a good time but she’s not even governor anymore & I’m pretty sure that was a one time thing. Now I admit that I wasn’t the most excited to come to Denver at first too (it’s pretty awesome actually) but trust me there are PLEANTY of great reasons for you to look forward to the Denver area (over Philly & Alaska) and playing for the Nuggets, such as:


Carlos boozer is from Alaska, do you want to be lumped in with him?

It’s super sunny here (300 days of sun)

Not as cold as either location either

A Nugget, Alex English, was leading scorer of the 80’s not Magic or Bird

We promise not to call you Iggy

You may be a superstar in Alaska but hard for you to find a job that pays the same or offers same talent level.
