One night The Knicks had a dream--
They dreamed they were walking along the beach with the Melo
and across the sky flashed scenes from the Knicks' season
For each scene they noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to us and the other to the Melo.
When the last play of the playoffs flashed before us,
We looked back at the footprints in the sand.
We noticed that many times along the path of our season,
there was only one set of footprints.
We also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in the season.
This really bothered the organization and we fans questioned the Melo about it.
"Melo, you said that once we decided to follow you,
you would walk with us all the way,
but we have noticed that during the most troublesome times in season
there is only one set of footprints.
"We don't understand why in times when we needed you most,
you should leave us."
The Melo replied, "My precious, precious team,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you in isolation."
