5 NBA MMA Fights We Want To See Part 2/5

V.S.

#4. Marc Gasol V. Pau Gasol

Reason: The NBA has cooked up a little sibling rivalry. Added to the mix is the fact that Marc was traded for Pau back in 2008, which was considered to be one-sided at the time. Also, since these guys have faced off before many times before as kids, they know each other styles. Lastly, since these guys are built so differently, it makes for an interesting fight.

Result: Each brother steps into the ring & greets each other with a warm embrace, much like Pau did with Rafael Nadal. Each fighter sizes up the other & the bell rings. They come out with markedly different styles, Pau trying to stay on the outside while Marc tries to get close, looking to brawl. This results in a few minutes of jostling around without much action, a lot like Eddy Curry’s game especially according to Scott Skiles. Tired of waiting, Marc charges like a rhino towards Pau uncharacteristically screaming “your mother wears army boots!” Pau clearly startled, is able to land a few blows, but Marc is able to repel most of the punishment. Tackling Pau to the floor, Marc rattles off two good face shots while on top of Pau. Pau reaches into his trunks and pulls out a picture of young Marc, screaming “No, Big Burrito, No!!” A look of compassion sets over Marc’s face and he loses his focus. Pau takes quick advantage, flipping over Marc onto his stomach and places Marc in a sleeper hold. Although Marc struggles, it is only a matter of time before Pau is the victor. However, instead of accepting his victory, Pau tends to Marc’s wounds until his brother regains consciousness. He has taken his place as King of the Gasols.
